Windows 10 for Phones will pack lots of new features and improvements and Microsoft has already announced some of them. They're even available for Windows Insiders in Technical Preview, even if they're not yet in a finished state.

During its BUILD 2015 conference, Microsoft details a lot of feature that will be part of Windows 10 for Phones. Some of them have been demoed during the conference, while other have only been mentioned.

Digital video stabilization is a nifty feature for cameras and it will be natively part of Windows 10 for phones, Microsoft confirmed.

The new feature has been demoed at BUILD 2015 and from the Redmond-based company stated, digital video stabilization will be available in entry-level devices too not just high-end smartphones.

“Since not all devices can have OIS, it is a very welcome feature coming with Windows 10. Not only video stabilization is natively present on Windows 10 for Phones, it comes with advanced feature of controlling 'amount of stabilization' to be added. Per the document.

This is a mandatory capability. When specified, the digital video stabilization is enabled in driver\MFT0 and the default overscan padding setting is up to the driver. This flag is mutually exclusive with the AUTO and OFF flags,” said Microsoft.

Lumia phones will also get the new feature via Windows 10 upgrade

Thanks to this feature, Windows Phone users will be able to capture better videos since digital video stabilization assures that they aren't too shaky.

Even Windows Phone handsets that are now available on the market should receive the digital video stabilization feature when these smartphones will be upgraded to Windows 10.

Speaking of which, Windows 10 for Phones was initially expected to arrive this summer, but Microsoft recently confirmed the new OS will be available after the PC version, which puts it on track for a fall release.
