A full patch for Microsoft’s in-house browser will be released next week

Microsoft has just announced that Patch Tuesday would also bring a full security update for the recently-discovered Internet Explorer flaw affecting all versions of the browser.

Even though the exploit has been made public and more users are reportedly getting attacks, the company won’t bring the fix sooner to the market, waiting for Patch Tuesday to deliver it to all Windows consumers.

Redmond initially said that attacks are aimed at IE8 and IE9, but it turns out that IE6, IE7, IE10, and even IE11 are all vulnerable to an exploit that would allow a cybercriminal to take control of an unpatched system.

Microsoft has indeed released a Fix-It tool to help users configure their computers in order to block further exploits, but the problem with this workaround is that it’s only available for manual download and it’s not being delivered via Windows Update.

More details on this will most likely be provided next week when Microsoft is set to roll out the eight security bulletins prepared for this month.
