Microsoft has released the Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop line of products that includes both a mouse and a keyboard specifically optimized for Windows 8.

The keyboard comes with a split layout “to help position the wrists and forearms in a natural, relaxed position” and includes hotkeys at the top for quickly accessing the Windows 8 charms.

The mouse is also based on an ergonomic design and is taller “to reduce the contact between desktop surface and the underside of your hand.”

“And the angle of the mouse puts the forearm in a more relaxed position. All these ergonomic benefits should change the way you feel when using a mouse for long periods of time,” Microsoft explains.

Just like the keyboard, the mouse features a Windows 8 button to quickly access the Start screen, as well as a back button for quick navigation.

The Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop is available for $129.95 (€97.25), while the mouse is also sold separately for $59.95 (€45.25).
