Aggreg8 is designed to be the MySpace of the IT community. The Redmond Company has constructed a social networking and collaboration space dedicated to the IT professionals sharing similar development issues and technologies. Aggreg8 enables developers to access scripts, tools, or best practices via working groups.

"Aggreg8 is a site for IT Pros to mix-n-mingle. It's like a "MySpace" (or a Windows Live Spaces) for IT Pros, complete with working groups on various topics that IT Pros get excited about. You can setup a profile, join groups, enter posts, add favorites, share content, mix, mingle, and learn," stated Kevin Remde, IT Pro Evangelist for Microsoft.

Developers with a PassPort account can build a personalized profile complete with avatar and begin networking. Microsoft has informed that the entire community inside Aggreg8 is accessible to developers.

"We even allow you to create your own working groups, choosing if you want to collaborate with the whole community or collaborate in private working groups. All the expected tools are there for collaboration, allowing you to create postings, post files, share events. And you can tag, rate reply to any posting. Of course Aggreg8 can come to you as all the working groups come with an RSS feed," reads a message from the Aggreg8 team.
