software giant's monthly patch release cycle. The dozen security bulletins will be released on August 8 and Microsoft has already drawn the general aspects of the issues addressed, notifying customers of the affected products, the composite top security level and the detection utilities involved in the massive update in order to ensure an effective deployment of the fixes.
"On 8 August 2006 Microsoft is planning to release ten Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows. The highest Maximum Severity rating for these is Critical. These updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer and the Enterprise Scan Tool. And two Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Office. The highest Maximum Severity rating for these is Critical. These updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer," revealed Microsoft in its Advanced notification.
Additionally, the Redmond Company has also presented the plan to launch a non-security update. Bundled with the security package will be an upgraded version of its Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool via Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services and the Download Center. Microsoft stated that it will not launch any non-security high-priority updates for Windows. "Although we do not anticipate any changes, the number of bulletins, products affected, restart information and severities are subject to change until released," concluded the Advanced Notification.
