Microsoft is still looking into ways to boost sales of some of its products, including the Surface tablet and Windows Phone, both of which have until now failed to gain traction.
Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet writes that Redmond could soon launch a Windows Phone – Surface bundle not only to boost sales, but also to tackle the need for 3G connectivity, as the company’s tablets are lacking such a feature for the time being.
Panos Panay, the man in charge with the Surface project at Microsoft, revealed that an LTE Surface SKU is projected to be unveiled next year, but he refused to provide any other details.
The lack of wireless connectivity for the Surface tablet is one of the main drawbacks right now, especially because Microsoft is betting big on the productivity side of its device.
