Microsoft is working on adding Photosynth support to SkyDrive, thus providing users with quick options to upload and view 3D panoramas on the cloud-based storage service.

While Microsoft is yet to reveal any details about this update, LiveSide.net writes that a future 3D panorama experience on SkyDrive.com would be provided by Photosynth, so expect some new announcements to be released anytime soon.

Word is that Microsoft is also planning to introduce Photosynth support to the Camera app available in the upcoming Windows 8.1 build, so SkyDrive compatibility would pretty much make sense.

Of course, Microsoft hasn’t said a thing about future plans, but more details are very likely to be unveiled in the coming weeks, as the company is set to debut the first public preview of the Windows 8.1 update at the BUILD developer conference in late June.
