Redmond-based company has already stated sending invites to the media for Windows Phone 8 launch event, which is set to take place in San Francisco, United States.
Although Nokia and HTC already announced their smartphones will hit shelves in later October / early November, Microsoft promises more details on Windows Phone 8 platform on the day.
Given the fact that the event will be held in the US, it could mark the kick-off of pre-orders for Windows Phone 8 handsets.
Word is that Nokia Lumia 920 will be available for purchase via AT&T on November 4, so it won't come as a surprise if customers will be able to pre-order the smartphone from October 29 or even a bit earlier.
