Just like we told you yesterday, Microsoft started selling the Surface RT, the company’s first tablet in history, in 13 new countries on Valentine’s Day, as it's still struggling to boost sales of the device across the world.

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland are all selling the Surface RT right now, with even more countries to get it as soon as possible.

“The phased rollout of Surface RT into new markets marks a pivotal moment for our customers who can now access and purchase Surface devices in more places,” Microsoft said in a statement. “With new and expanded availability to more people around the world, we’re eager for customers to get their hands on Surface RT and see how it can enhance their day to day lives.”

While Microsoft is yet to release official sales figures for the Surface RT, analysts and retailers in the US point to a rather disappointing early uptake, citing the lack of apps as the main reason.
