14 DAY TRIAL // We’ve already told you earlier today that Silverlight.net had become unavailable to all consumers, with plenty of links reported to be broken, while the main website redirected users to a new MSDN page.
A company spokesperson confirmed for ZDNet that Microsoft has actually pulled the plug on Silverlight.net, but it would continue to provide support for this platform until 2021.
“We realize that some of our customers may have experienced challenges accessing links to content that had resided on the original Silverlight site. We apologize for any inconvenience and we’re working to resolve these issues for our customers,” the Microsoft spokesperson said.
“The consolidation of this content does not impact Microsoft’s Silverlight offering. We released Silverlight 5 in December 2011 and we’ve committed to supporting Silverlight into the year 2021.”
According to Microsoft’s very own statement, the migration officially ended on October 31, but the first reports on broken Silverlight.net links emerged today.
