As we reported to you not long ago, Bangladeshi hacker TiGER-M@TE managed to break into the servers belonging to a Kenyan web hosting company and hijack the DNS settings of several websites, including those belonging to tech giants Google, Kaspersky, Dell, and Microsoft.

A company representative confirmed for Softpedia in a mailed statement that Kenyan websites have indeed recorded some suspicious activity and, even though the DNS settings got hijacked, security engineers reacted quickly to restore the original configuration.

“We are aware of some site defacements and we have taken steps to ensure all sites are fully restored,” a Microsoft spokesperson told us.

The attacker modified the website to redirect users to a page he owned in order to let everyone know that he’d managed to hack Microsoft’s domains, including Skype.co.ke, msn.co.ke, bing.co.ke, and Microsoft.co.ke.
