Good news for Windows Phone fans in Australia, as Microsoft has just confirmed that both Nokia Lumia 930 and Lumia 635 smartphones will be available for purchase from all major carriers in the country beginning this July.

Although Microsoft did not share any details on the exact release date for any of these smartphones, the company did say how much they would cost.

So, customers in Australia will be able to grab the Lumia 930 for $730 (€505), whereas Nokia Lumia 635 will be available for only $280 (€195) outright.

Keep in mind that while Nokia Lumia 930 will be available through Vodafone, Telstra and Optus, the Lumia 635 has only been confirmed for Telstra and Optus.

The former will go on sale in bright orange, bright green, black and white, while the latter will be available in green, orange, yellow, white and black.

Here is what Steve Lewis, general manager of Microsoft mobile devices in Australia and New Zealand had to say about the official launch of these smartphones: “In today’s world, people are looking for devices that are both pretty and powerful. They want the design, as well as the features to help them get the most out of every moment at work, home and play.

With the Lumia 930 we have created a smartphone that blends stunning design with features that allows people to take control of their busy lives and take back a bit of ‘me’ time, whether that’s being hyper productive on the go, capturing, sharing and storing amazing images and video at a sports game, or Skyping friends and family from home.

With high-end technologies and apps, plus the latest Windows Phone 8.1 experience that people get with our flagship products, we believe the Lumia 635 is undoubtedly one of the best smartphones in its affordable price range.”

It’s also worth mentioning that both Nokia smartphones will be available for free on select plans, but they will also go on sale through multiple major retailers across the country, including Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Allphone and JB HiFi.

Keep in mind that Microsoft’s suggested retailer price for both smartphones may not be similar to the prices that retailers will ask for Lumia 930 and 635, but they should be close to it in the worst-case scenario.

We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the release dates for these Windows Phone 8.1 handsets, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
