We’ve already told you that one of the fixes released by Microsoft on Patch Tuesday is wreaking havoc on Windows 7 workstations, with many users confirming that their operating system fails to load after deploying the KB2823324 security update.

The company has confirmed the problem and has said that it’s now working on a fix, recommending users to completely remove the update until an official workaround is released.

“Microsoft is investigating behavior where systems may not recover from a restart, or applications cannot load, after security update 2823324 is applied. We recommend that customers uninstall this update. As an added precaution, Microsoft has removed the download links to the 2823324 update while we investigate,” the company said.

In addition, Microsoft engineers explained that the issues could be caused by third-party software, but the name of the app that blocks Windows 7 from loading is unknown.
