As I told you a few hours ago, some users have reported updating problems on Windows 8 with KB2821895, one of the fixes released as part of the latest Patch Tuesday cycles.

Even though several users have already confirmed the bug which makes Windows 8 terribly slow, Microsoft is yet to release a workaround, even though we’re pretty sure it’s already looking into the issue.

A Microsoft Support forums moderator has confirmed that the company is investigating the report, but no other specifics have been provided.

“Thanks for uploading your log. We're taking a look at it and we will reply back when we have more information to share,” he posted.

More details on the bug, as well as a temporary workaround can be found here. Make sure you hide the update to block it from reinstalling until Microsoft publishes a fix.
