Microsoft is definitely getting ready to launch at least one more mid-range Windows Phone handset in the next couple of weeks. The so-called Nokia Lumia 730 is the main candidate for an IFA 2014 reveal, but other devices are in the cards as well.

No later than yesterday details emerged about an unannounced Nokia Lumia 830 supposedly coming in the US at Verizon Wireless, but it’s unclear whether or not the device will be launched next month as well.

All in all, it looks like Microsoft has just started to send invitations for its own event that’s scheduled for September 4 at IFA 2014 trade fair.

Media is invited to join Microsoft “for more face time” in Berlin, Germany. According to the Redmond-based company more details are to follow.

Judging by the look of the invitation, the main device to be revealed early next month is supposed to focus on the camera. Given that Nokia Lumia 730 was previously known as Microsoft’s “selfie phone,” there’s a high chance that the company will make it official at IFA 2014.

We don’t rule out the possibility of seeing other smartphones being announced during Microsoft’s conference press, but we don’t have any details to confirm it yet.

On the other hand, there are already several reports that spot the Nokia Lumia 730 at various retailers around the world, which means that the smartphone’s launch can’t be too far away.

In some cases, we also have the smartphone’s price tag and most of its specs, so we know almost everything there is to know about the Lumia 730.

According to the latest hearsay, Nokia Lumia 730 should go on sale for around $240 (€180), but price may depend on carrier and country, so it might be different in some regions.

The spiritual successor of the Lumia 720, the upcoming mid-range smartphone is expected to ship with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 operating system out of the box.

In addition, the smartphone is said to be equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit.

Furthermore, the Lumia 730 might sport a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, as well as an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash.

But the phone’s main selling point could be the no less impressive 5-megapixel camera in the front, which is perfect for selfies, as well as video calls. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
