BUILD is becoming quite an important event for Microsoft, as it's being used for revealing lots of new projects in front of developers, including versions of the Windows OS lineup.

After presenting the new Windows 8.1 Preview at the 2013 edition of the event, the company is now preparing some other major news for 2014.

Redmond confirmed in a press statement that BUILD 2014 would be held between April 2 and April 4 in San Francisco, in the exact same place as the 2013 show, with the focus to be put on Windows, Windows Phone, and Xbox.

Unsurprisingly, this is the right time to hold the event, not only to show new products, but also because Windows XP is scheduled to be retired on April 8, 2014, so expect the company to provide us with the latest market share statistics for the aging OS just before its demise.
