Microsoft is sending out an invite to participate in the concepts behind Internet Explorer 8. Having made Internet Explorer 7 available on 18 October 2006, Microsoft is now looking ahead to the next version of the browser. With IE7 settled at 30.56% of the browser market, out of the total 78.03% share of Internet Explorer, Microsoft has begun working on the next version, and internal reports revealed that the company is dogfooding alpha variants of the product. Moreover, developers will be able to participate in an interactive session or Chalk Talk at TechEd 2007, focused on the future of IE.

"Come join members of the IE team and give them a piece of your mind. What do you want to see the IE team fix, what are your most common headaches, what can we do to make your lives as Web developers easier. This is your opportunity to talk with the IE team and help shape the future of the next version of IE," reads the short description of Cyra Richardson's Microsoft Internet Explorer: Interactive (200) session.

Tech-Ed 2007 will take place between June 4 and June 8 in Orlando, and it is a conference dedicated to IT professionals and developers. This year's keynote speaker will be Bob Muglia, Senior Vice President of the Microsoft Server and Tools business. However, the IE team will have a strong presence there as Markellos Diorinos, IE Product Manager revealed.

"As you know, TechEd is focused on current technology, so our sessions are focusing on unlocking the power of IE7. There are 6 breakout and 7 chalk talk sessions that you can visit to get in-depth information on Internet Explorer - and have the opportunity to interact with the members of the team. We're also excited to have Molly Holzschlag doing a couple of sessions on Monday. If you have more questions, feel free to swing by one of the IE7 booths - there is one in the developer and one in the security area of the Microsoft pavilion," Diorinos stated.

The team will focus on a range of issues with the 13 sessions ranging from IE7 in enterprise environments, to Extended Validation SSL, security, standards, JavaScript performance and of course IE8.
