A new study conducted by Microsoft on a total of 4,000 people in the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and Germany revealed that 13 percent of the users browsing the web don’t even care about their privacy online.

The rest of 87 percent admitted that privacy has been a concern after going online, but only 47 percent of them confirmed that they tried to protect privacy in one way or another.

“In the U.K., consumers are most likely to take action: 51 percent of U.K. respondents say they are taking measures to protect their online privacy, followed by 48 percent in the U.S., 46 percent in France and just 44 percent in Germany,” Microsoft explained.

In addition, Germans seem to pay much more attention to information sharing after going online, as only 27 percent of the respondents claimed they are willing to reveal their email address on the Internet.
