Can leveraging Microsoft resources land you that dream job in IT? Can they help you build the most successful career possible? Can they contribute to expanding your horizon? A new initiative from the software giant might have the answers to the questions above.

The Career Factor online reality show from Microsoft Learning has made its debut, promising to focus on real people and real stories.

The show features no less than nine people, each on their own path, and taking advantage of training, free exams as well as additional resources from the Redmond company.

“Career Factor is an online reality show based on the experiences of nine IT personalities. Our candidates have set a professional goal for themselves, and have invited you to follow their every step along the way.

“On their personal pages you can explore their backgrounds, learn from their experiences, and share your findings. You’ll find videos, links to learning resources, tips, and updates via their blog and various social media outlets. So take a look around, find some common ground and get inspired by Career Factor,” reads the show’s synopsis.

Head over to Career Factor and meet Steve (the job seeker), Tim (the career advancement seeker), Kevin (the student), Bojan (the aspiring Microsoft certified master), Eddie (the DIY it professional), Rabeb (the Windows Phone 7 developer), Neil (the Azure developer), Simon (the it manager), and Caroline (the Office competition contender).

Users will be able to follow any of the Career Factor nine participants, or all, and see whether they manage to achieve their respective goals or not.

Goals range from finding the first job for the student to getting back in the game for an IT professional that has been sidelined, to changing gears by embracing new technologies, etc.
