The Microsoft Business Intelligence Twitter Contest is scheduled to start tomorrow June 14th, 2011.

As the official label of the initiative reveals, the challenge will take place on Twitter, and will involve the Redmond company’s BI offerings.

In the image included at the top of this article users will be able to see some of the prizes that the software giant will be handing out as a part of the Microsoft BI Twitter contest.

Since the initiative’s main channel is Twitter, participants can expect a tad of interaction to be required from them on the social network.

A member of the Microsoft BI team highlighted some “key things to remember when participating in the contest:

•You must be following @MicrosoftBI to be eligible to win

•Your answer must be a reply to our tweet with the #MSBI hashtag included in your response

•Typos and misspelled words will automatically disqualify you, so be sure to type your answers correctly

•List out the full name of a product or service when needed

•If you become a winner, you are not eligible to win again during this contest period (Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 through July 1st, 2011).”

A post on the Microsoft BI team blog contains the official rules for the MSBI Twitter Contest, which users should make sure to read before they enter.

Obviously, Twitter accounts are mandatory for participation, but they’re free, so this shouldn’t really be a problem.

Being familiar with Microsoft’s BI offerings is another thing altogether, especially since they span across a range of products, including Excel and SQL Server.

“We will ask questions about Microsoft BI technologies, solutions, and related Microsoft products at approximately 10:00AM PDT (-8:00 GMT) on each Tuesday and Friday starting on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 through July 1st, 2011. The first person to reply to our question with the correct answer will win some cool prizes courtesy of the Microsoft BI team!” the Microsoft BI team representative added.
