Webalo, Inc., a Californian developer of software applications, has just announced that users of Microsoft's Business Intelligence platform (also known as Microsoft BI), can, from now on, access business reports via about any modern mobile device.

This is done via the Webalo Mobile Dashboard, which is available as an inside-the-firewall appliance or as a hosted service. The Dashboard is capable of transforming SQL Server, Excel, PerformancePoint and SharePoint content into simple "mobile displays" that users can easily read and navigate through.

"Our goal is to make it possible for any mobile professional to have access to exactly the information they need on any kind of device. Our intent is to mobilize this sizeable market to enable business executives to keep pace with the hyper-speed of business today," states Peter Price, president and chief executive officer at Webalo, Inc.

Nils Rasmussen, founder and president of Solver, Inc., a top performance management and business intelligence solutions developer, added: "Up until now, providing access to critical business information on different mobile devices has required unique programming for each device, and for each underlying BI platform. Webalo has eliminated that nearly insurmountable problem. This is particularly important in today’s tight economy, when timely business decisions are even more critical to companies’ success than ever in the past."

Webalo's Mobile Dashboard for Microsoft Business Intelligence is compatible with RIM's BlackBerry platform (version 4.0 or later), Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6 and Java MIDP 2.0 smartphones (most probably, the Symbian, UIQ and Palm handsets too are included here). There's no mentioning of Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 6.1, but this will probably be added to the Mobile Dashboard-compatible list soon.

Webalo's new solution is the only one of this kind, thus it's expected to be a success. To try it for yourselves, you can visit Webalo's official website, found at this address.
