Most Surface models are currently listed as out of stock across the US

Microsoft’s Surface tablet appears to be sold out at several US retailers, including Redmond’s very own online store, even though the device was launched approximately two months ago.

But as far as Michael Cherry, the lead analyst of operating systems at Directions on Microsoft, is concerned, the Redmond-based tech giant has adopted a different strategy for the second-generation Surface, in an attempt to sell out and thus make it look like it’s all more successful.

“[Microsoft] produced a smaller run with the intent of selling out,” he was quoted as saying by the Huffington Post. “They really made what they thought they could sell,” he added. “Good for them -- they were right.”

Microsoft, on the other hand, has acknowledged this great opportunity and promised to bring more tablets in stores by Christmas, as it clearly wants to sell as many slates as possible.
