Microsoft brought Danger to its Premium Mobile Experiences group, as it finalized the acquisition of the mobile solutions developer. The Redmond company announced the take-over of Danger as early as February 2008, and highlighted a strong focus on innovating mobile consumer experiences. Neither of the two companies made public the financial details of their agreement. Microsoft only revealed that communication, media sharing, entertainment and customization will offer a new level of consumer experiences.

"We imagine a mobile experience that embraces sharing and celebrating relationships and personal moments. Combining Danger and Microsoft talents together in the Premium Mobile Experiences team is how we're going to deliver cool, new, fun mobile experiences to consumers. We want people to smile every time they look at their phone," stated Roz Ho, corporate vice president of Premium Mobile Experiences.

According to Microsoft, Danger has been completely swallowed up into the new Premium Mobile Experiences. The PMX team in its turn is just a piece of a greater puzzle dubbed the Mobile Communications Business, which is a component of the Entertainment and Devices Division. As the PMX team is led by Roz Ho, all former Danger employees will respond directly to her. This includes Danger's co-founders Matt Hershenson and Joe Britt.

"At Danger, we created a fun and easy-to-use mobile experience for today's Internet-savvy consumer," Britt stated. The Danger mobile Internet platform Britt was referring to will from now on be offered by Microsoft. The solution is designed to permit end users to connect not only to one another, but also brings to the table social networking interaction as well as opening up new Internet services and content. "As we combine our team and technologies with Microsoft, we see a clear path to evolving that experience and delivering it to an even broader group of consumers," said Hershenson.
