Often, owners of Windows Phone 8 smartphones that have only 512MB of RAM find themselves locked out of new apps and games for the mobile operating system, but it seems that Microsoft is thinking about them as well.

To show that, the company has decided to resurrect around 40 older Xbox Live games, all of which landed on Windows Phone 7 devices at some point, and has made all of them available for 512MB Windows Phone handsets this week.

The list of titles includes The Harvest, Hasta La Muerte, Fable Coin Gold, Farm Frenzy 2, Mush, and many other popular games, which means that they might easily prove great new additions to the Windows Phone Store on said 512MB WP8 smartphones.

Other games that received the makeover include Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Microsoft Mahjohng, Rise of Glory, Avatar Gadgets, Microsoft Minesweeper, Halo: Spartan Assault, Z0MB1ES (on teh ph0ne), BulletAsylum, Implode!, Crafting Guide, and more.

As WPCentral notes, some of these games have already been ported to Windows Phone 8, though many were left out of the OS, and this has changed now. The good news is that users will be able to enjoy these titles after upgrading their devices to the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system too.

Those of you interested in having a look at the full list of Xbox games from Microsoft Studios that have received the aforementioned update should head over to WPCentral for that.
