Microsoft doesn’t talk too much about Windows 8 but, when it does it, the company tries to show everyone that its new operating system is selling like hot cakes.

The Redmond-based software giant said in a new statement that more than 540,000 students and teachers have already embraced its new software, so the company expects the Windows 8 momentum to continue in the coming months.

The statement then goes on to mention some of the schools that made the switch to Windows 8, with Microsoft also posting some statements of school officials obviously praising the operating system.

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft has once again refused to provide information on the total sales of Windows 8, even though analysts and experts around the world continue to criticize the operating system and point to its disappointing sales performance so far.
