Microsoft has appointed Gurdeep Singh Pall as new Corporate Vice President for Skype, after Mark Gillett has decided to leave the company and work for private equity firm Silver Lake.

Pall previously worked within the Online Services Division, but as reported by AllThingsD, Microsoft has decided to bring him back to the Skype unit and take over from Gillett.

He already has the know-how to lead such an important team, as Pall already worked for Skype in 2011 before Microsoft purchased the VoIP platform.

Once the acquisition was completed, Pall was appointed Corporate Vice President of Microsoft's Information Platform & Experience team and later joined the Online Services divisions.

Earlier this year, he also served as Executive Vice President for Bing, but at this point, there are no details on the one to take over this vacant seat.
