Microsoft will hold the regional round of the BizSpark India Startup Challenge focused on cloud computing, mobile apps and Windows 8 in Kochi, India on May 29.

A report by NewsTrack India reveals that this is the first time when Kochi becomes one of the cities to host a Microsoft challenge, so the tech giant continues its efforts to make the most of India’s IT potential by expanding its efforts all over the country.

As you probably know, winners of these regional contests will then take part in a large challenge in Bangalore, but more specifics will be announced at a later date.

"Microsoft's choice of Startup Village as the host for the challenge is not just an acknowledgement of the tremendous strides we have made over the past one year, it also heralds the arrival of Kochi on India's entrepreneurial map," Sijo Kuruvilla George, CEO of Startup Village, was quoted by the source as saying.
