Now that the second-generation Surface tablet is already on the market, Microsoft is trying to clear out inventories of the first model with a number of discounts.

Starting today and until December 31, the entry-level version of the Surface Pro will cost only $699 (€506), following another $100 (€73) price cut announced by Microsoft today.

Of course, the 128 GB model can now be purchased for only $799 (€578), while the 256 GB version now costs $999 (€723).

The promo is only available to buyers in the United States and Canada, as Microsoft hasn’t yet announced whether similar discounts could go live in other parts of the world too.

“Available in select Microsoft retail and online stores in US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. Combinable with qualifying Touch Cover discount offer. Limited inventory available,” Microsoft mentions on its official store page.
