The fans of the button mashing genre will be delighted to hear that Microsoft has just announced 25 brand new missions for Ninja Gaiden II, the latest game from legendary developer Tomonobu Itagaki. According to a press statement released by the publishing company, this downloadable content pack is the equivalent to a whole campaign, which is pretty exciting.

The brand new missions will be launched on the 25th of July and they will only cost you 800 MS Points ($10). Unfortunately, the new campaign was not detailed by Microsoft, but we have found out some details: it's all about the gameplay and each of the missions available will be themed to challenge the full range of ninja skills of our hero (which further means that we'll get a bunch of Survival missions, Karma Attack missions or Ninpo Magic missions). So, starting the 25th, you will probably have even more reasons to try climbing up on the leaderboard, right?

You probably know that this expansion pack is not the first DLC to be released for Ninja Gaiden II, but it certainly is the most impressive - we had, until now, Gamerpics and themes for the dashboard and a rather strange costume set which gave us three new outfits for Ryu to wear in-game. However, this 25-mission pack is called by Team Ninja and Microsoft "the mother of all expansion packs". We completely understand why.

The story in Ninja Gaiden II follows Ryu Hayabusa on a mission to avenge his clan's name and to prevent the end of the human race from taking place. He only has his ninja training and weapons to complete this tremendous task, and there is not a creature in the world that can stop him from doing so. One of the most important modifications brought to the original game is the possibility to record Ryu's exploits and share his greatest achievements with the Xbox Live Community. And now, thanks to Team Ninja, there will be even more great things to share starting the 25th of July!
