Microsoft's very own Surface tablets and the other devices running Windows are selling like hot cakes in Taiwan, according to a statement of a local company employee.

Digitimes reports that general manager of Microsoft Taiwan, Davis Tsai, said that Redmond's main purpose now is to boost the market share from one third to 50 percent by the end of 2014, which is quite an ambitious goal given the fact that both Android and iOS devices are already holding the leading spots.

Microsoft's second-generation Surface, on the other hand, is selling very well right now, as most versions are already listed as out of stock at many stores across the United States.

Redmond, on the other hand, has promised to make more devices available in time for Christmas, as the company has already launched multiple discounts supposed to boost sales of both the RT and the Pro models.
