Microsoft and a group of other companies will be allowed to examine Google’s proposals in its EU anti-trust investigations and work with investigators on a verdict.

Microsoft and some other companies, including TripAdvisor and Expedia, have tipped off the European Commission over several violations of Google’s search engine, claiming that the search company needs to tweak its technology in order to comply with competition rules.

According to a report by Reuters, Google has agreed to mark the links pointing to its services on the search results page, but also to include links to at least three competitors, such as Microsoft’s own Bing.

While no confirmation has been provided so far, it’s believed that Microsoft and its allies will demand even more modifications, as they all feel that Google violates competition rules in Europe.

All these companies have a month at their disposal to analyze Google’s proposal and to make further demands on the matter.
