Microsoft has just launched the second-generation Surface tablet and the company now hopes to sell many more units this time, as the first models have been rather disappointing.

Looking back at the first generation, Microsoft Australia marketing manager Jack Cowett admitted that the Surface brand was a bit confusing, as some users couldn’t make the difference between the RT and the Pro models.

“We think that there was some confusion in the market last year on the difference between Surface RT and Surface Pro,” he was quoted as saying by PC Pro. “We want to help make it easier for people, and these are two different products designed for two different people.”

The RT model included in the second-generation is simply called “Surface 2,” while the Pro model running the full version of Windows 8 is now being sold as “Surface Pro 2.”
