The company claims that it was all just a mistake and removed the clip

Microsoft yesterday unveiled the new Surface 2 tablet, claiming that its new device is faster and lighter than its predecessor.

In order to promote the tablet, Microsoft also rolled out a video to showcase the key features of the Surface 2, including the new Windows 8.1 OS.

It turns out however that whoever filmed the video forgot to remove a third-party Start Menu app running on his tablet, as such a feature could be easily spotted in the bottom left corner of the screen. As you can see in the screenshot above, this isn’t the built-in Start button, but a third-party app that brings back the Start Menu on Windows 8.

The Verge is reporting that Microsoft admitted it was all just a mistake of a company employee and decided to remove the video until a new version is created and re-uploaded on YouTube. Without a Start Menu, that is.
