Microsoft will announce its new Surface tablets in just a couple of hours, but according to existing rumors, the company is very likely to make the same mistakes as for the first-generation.

Even though it’s not yet confirmed, the company is very likely to ignore customer feedback and keep some features unavailable on its tablets, including 3G support.

Most of the tablets already come with 3G or 4G LTE connectivity and given the fact that Microsoft is promoting the Surface as a device aimed at boosting productivity on the go, such a feature would clearly come in handy.

Instead, the tech giant will only focus on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, making wireless networks the only option for users who want to browse the Internet with their tablets. Dongles that work with the Surface, be it the RT or the Pro, are still missing from the market, so the lack of 3G could indeed be a major setback for plenty of buyers out there.

The only good thing is that Microsoft has decided to develop a docking station for the Surface RT, but no tech specs are known for the time being.

More details will be unveiled in just a couple of hours, as Microsoft is set to announce its new-generation Surface in New York City.
