There is a new line of solid state drives up and selling, or they will be soon enough.

Long story short, Micron has finished its RealSSD C400 solid state drives.

The products feature the mSATA interface and will serve notebooks, or any other compatible application.

That said, the capacity range is 32 GB to 256 GB, while the data transfer speeds go as high as 500 MB/s when reading and 260 MB/s when writing.

A Marvell 88S9174-BL02 controller is responsible for this performance.

"Efficient memory and storage are key components to portable computing. Our new mSATA delivers on the true promise of SSD technology — high-performance storage in a tiny, low-power package. Breaking away from the constraints of enclosures meant for hard drives is a great step toward enabling truly mobile computing platforms," said Justin Sykes, Micron's general manager of client SSD solutions.

The Micron RealSSD C400 are made of MLC NAND Flash memory chips and communicate over the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface. No prices yet though.
