The man will leave his post as vice president of advanced controller development

Lots of people have trouble finding a job these days, but there is the other extreme, where people are sought after by many parties. NVIDIA's vice president of advanced controller development is one such person.

Or perhaps we should say NVIDIA's VP was one such person. Not because anything bad happened to him, mind you, but because he is no longer NVIDIA's staff member.

Instead, he has left his position with the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker in order to take Micron up on its offer.

From now on, Brian Angell will act as leader of Micron's controller development division.

"As Micron continues our evolution to more systems-level solutions, we continue to invest in the area of systems enablement that includes a focus in areas such as controller, firmware and software development," said Micron President Mark Adams.

"We couldn't be more excited to have someone of Brian's caliber leading Micron's advanced controller development efforts."

Brian Angell has a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from Devry Institute of Technology, which he earned all the way back in 1984.

Since then, he's had to update his knowledge and keep up with the developments in his field, and all other tech areas really.

His experience totals 30 years at this point, and it is that experience that Micron wants to have as a resource.

It's hard to say how long Angell will keep his new post before taking an offer elsewhere. His tenure with NVIDIA wasn't short, having started in 2002, but before that, he served as director of engineering at Vivace Networks from 2000 to 2002, and chief technology officer of Raydiant from 1998 to 1999, so he seems to move from place to place frequently.

From 1996 to 1998, he worked as director of consumer products at 3dfx Interactive. This just adds to the variety of his experiences though, and that means a broader perspective.
