14 DAY TRIAL // Indian handset maker Micromax has just released yet another affordable Android smartphone. The Unite 3 is now available for purchase in India for only Rs 6,569 outright, which is about $103 or €95.
The Unite series is pretty popular in India, but not because it brings unique or high-end features, but because they are cheap. The third smartphone in the series is no exception to the rule, so those who are looking for a cheap high-end device should look elsewhere because the Unite 3 is just affordable.
Before talking about the phone's hardware, it's worth mentioning that Micromax Unite 3 is now available for purchase at Infibeam, and customers can choose from either Blue or White colors.
Moving on to specs, Micromax Unite 3's main selling point should be the fact that it comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is quite rare for devices priced that low.
The smartphone is discounted for a limited time
There are many other smartphones launched in the last couple of weeks, which are in the same price range but ship with older Android versions onboard.
On the inside, the Unite 3 is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Luckily, the smartphone also packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
There's also an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus and video recording. Micromax Unite 3 comes with a 2-megapixel secondary camera in the front for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and it is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.
It also offers dual-SIM support along with other connectivity options, including 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS with AGPS.
We expect Micromax to make the Unite 3 available through other major retailers across the country very soon, but until then Infibeam is the only place to get it.
