The smartphone is only available for purchase via Snapdeal

A few days ago, Micromax announced the world's first smartphone with 21 languages, the Unite 2, and promised that the handset would be available for purchase beginning May 22.

Unfortunately, Micromax's online store did not stock the smartphone on the promised date. As a matter of fact, the Unite 2 is nowhere to be seen on the company's webstore and no other Indian retailer has the smartphone in stock, with one exception.

Indian retailer Snapdeal seems to be the first to stock the Micromax Unite 2, though the smartphone has a slightly higher price than the suggested retail one of Rs 6,999 ($120 / €87).

It is also worth mentioning that Micromax has confirmed that the Unite 2 would be available for purchase in four different color options: Balmy Green, Pristine White, Raging Red and Mystic Grey.

However, Snapdeal only has the Mystic Grey version in stock for the moment, though we believe the retailer had all versions available at one point but they were simply sold out in a matter of hours.

There's no telling how many Micromax Unite 2 units Snapdeal still has in stock, so you might want to hurry up with your orders.

Keep in mind though that the Snapdeal offers the Unite 2 for no less than Rs 8,000 ($135 / €100) outright. On a more positive note, the Indian retailer claims that all orders are dispatched in just 1 day, which means that the smartphone is already in stock.

For those unfamiliar with Micromax's Unite 2 smartphone, here is a quick recap. First of all, this is the only smartphone that comes packed with most languages spoken in India: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Kashmiri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit, and Sindhi.

Another strong point is the fact that it comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which is unusual for a mid-range smartphone launched in India.

Micromax Unite 2 has been priced similarly as the Motorola Moto E, which was recently launched in India. The smartphones are not directly competing for the most popular affordable Android handset in India.

Other highlights of the Unite 2 include a large 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6582M processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Micromax Unite 2 also packs a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2000 mAh battery and various connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS support.
