Indian handset maker Micromax has just announced the availability of its dual-SIM Android smartphone A75. The phone is probably one of the cheapest of its kind and a nice addition to the company’s Superfone lineup.

In this regard, Micromax launched one month ago the cheapest Android phone in India to feature a dual-core processor, the Micromax Superpfone A85, which was priced at only Rs 18,990 ($360 or 270 EUR).

The Micromax Superfone Lite A75 is now available for purchase via multiple regional major retailers, including Flipkart and Letsbuy, for only Rs 8,990 ($170 or 128 EUR).

Aside the dual-SIM function, Micromax A75 comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board and features a 3.75-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

According to Micromax, the A75 “offers customers UIM and SIM card slots with dual standby and low power consumption.”

The smartphone is equipped with a 650 MHz processor and packs 190 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Software-wise, the smartphone is delivered with Google Voice Actions app, which allows users to perform a range of actions by simply speaking to the phone, instead of typing or using the phone’s touchscreen display. With Google Voice Actions users can take notes, play music or send text messages.

In addition, the phone is pre-loaded with the popular WhatsApp Messenger cross-platform application, which provides users with the option to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS.

On the back, the Micromax A75 sports a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities, while on the front there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Micromax A75 features a wide range of connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, Wi-fi Hotspot and GPS (Google Maps) capabilities, microUSB port, as well as 2G and 3G.
