One of the most successful Indian handset maker, Micromax is about to launch its first waterproof smartphone in the country, the Splash.

MMXNewscaster has just published the first press picture of the Micromax Splash, but the smartphone is unconfirmed for the time being.

Aside from the fact that it should be IP67 certified, not many details are known about Micromax Splash. According to IP67 certification requirements, Micromax Splash should be waterproof (up to 1m for 30 minutes) and dust-proof.

The leaked picture also confirms the smartphone will be powered by Android Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but we're not sure what version. The 5-megapixel rear-facing camera is also confirmed to feature LED flash.

That's all we know about Micromax Splash for the moment, but we expect more details to emerge in the coming days so stay tuned.
