Indian mobile phone maker Micromax is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new high-end device in the coming months, and some info on the handset has already emerged online.

The smartphone is reportedly set to arrive sometime in June and should pack an Nvidia Tegra 4i chipset inside, a new report on the matter suggests.

Moreover, an allegedly leaked photo with the smartphone is also available for your viewing pleasure, courtesy of Twitter user @LeaksterInc.

The handset in said leaked image looks strikingly similar to the Wiko Wax handset that was unveiled with the Tegra 4i processor inside earlier this year, which makes us question the authenticity of the photo (especially with the aforementioned Twitter account being newly created).

According to AndroidOS, chances are that the Micromax handset is indeed the very same smartphone as the Wiko Wax, built by the same OEM under Nvidia’s instructions for both companies, which would explain both the similar looks and the different branding.

However, this is only a supposition for the time being, and it remains to be seen whether Micromax will indeed make such a phone official next month.

Provided that the leak pans out, we should see the handset being released in Russia, given the applications that are visible on the phone’s screen on the aforementioned leaked image. However, users in India are also expected to receive it, after the initial release.

Rumor has it that Micromax will announce the new device with a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720p resolution, and that it will also pack 1GB of RAM next to the aforementioned 1.7GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4i processor.

The specs list of this device is also said to include an 8-megapixel rear camera, along with a 5MP front camera, and 4GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The upcoming Micromax smartphone is also said to hit shelves with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top right from the start.

All in all, the new device appears set to prove a highly appealing option for many users out there, especially with all of the aforementioned hardware specs packed inside, despite the fact that an official confirmation on its existence hasn’t been provided as of now.

No info on the availability and pricing of this smartphone has been provided either, though it might all be formally unveiled as soon as the next month, so stay tuned to learn specifics on this.
