We reported last week that Indian OEM Micromax might launch a flagship smartphone powered by Windows Phone 8.1, which would feature quad-core CPU and 5-inch full HD display.

However, it looks like the information was slightly inaccurate, as the person leaking the information has just cleared things up. Well, according to @Leakster, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-based smartphone and the one powered by Windows Phone 8.1 are two different devices.

This means that Micromax will launch two new smartphones in July, which doesn’t come as a surprise given the fact that the Indian company usually releases at least 3-4 devices per month.

Basically, the Windows Phone 8.1 we detailed last week is in fact an Android smartphone. Although for the moment it is unclear what version of Android the smartphone will run, given the phone’s high-end features, we expect Micromax’s device to ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

Obviously, this has yet to be confirmed, but there’s a high chance that the handset will come packed with the last version of Android onboard.

Other than that, the unannounced device is rumored to come equipped with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which will be complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and no less than 2GB of RAM.

Another strong point of Micromax’s upcoming flagship phone would be the 5-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display.

On the back, the smartphone is said to boast an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper, which is expect to feature autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. In the front, the 5-megapixel secondary camera will make sure that users will be able to take perfect selfies.

The high-end device will come packed with 16GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Last but not least, the cited source claims that the handset will be powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which will be rated by the manufacturer after the official release on the Indian market.

It’s unclear whether or not it will be available in multiple color options, but we do know that it will be available for purchase for around Rs 23 – 25k outright, which is about $390 (€285) or $420 (€310).

These are all the details leaked online, but they are enough to give Micromax fans an idea of what the Indian company has in store for them. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
