14 DAY TRIAL // Micromax has just released two new budget-friendly Android smartphones in India, the Bolt A59 and Bolt A28. Aimed at those who cannot afford mid-range devices, these two Bolt series smartphones offer the basic, but most important features that an Android user in India would want.
First and foremost, both Micromax smartphones offer dual-SIM support (GSM / GSM) with dual standby. Moreover, they are available for very low prices.
Thus, AndroidOS reports that customers in India can get the Micromax Bolt A59 for just Rs 4,542 ($70 / €55) off contract.
The second Micromax smartphone, the Bolt A28, is even cheaper than the A59, as customers can pick this one up for only Rs 3,674 outright, which is about $60 or €45.
The only major difference between the two smartphones is the fact that they are powered by different versions of Android.
The Micromax Bolt A59 ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, whereas the Bold A28 runs an old Android 2.3 Gingerbread version.
Both Micromax smartphones sport 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen displays that support 320 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery.
However, while the Bolt A59 features a 2-megapixel main camera on the back and a VGA front-facing camera, the Bolt A28 only sports a VGA photo snapper on the back and a similar one in the front.
On the inside, Micromax Bolt A59 is equipped with a 1GHz single-core Spreadtrum SC7710 processor, which is complemented by a Mali 300 graphics processing unit, 256MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.
Micromax Bolt A28 is powered by a similar 1GHz single-core Cortex A5 processor, accompanied by the same Mali 300 GPU, 256MB of RAM and 512MB of storage.
Both devices come packed with microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB. Other highlights of the smartphones include: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
