Micromax is reportedly preparing the launch of a new, innovative smartphone, one that would land on the market as Micromax Canvas mAd A94, and that will enable users to earn money through watching advertisements.

Apparently, the mobile phone maker is also kicking off a “Mad about ads” contest, with this smartphone in the spotlight.

Running on various social media websites, the contest will reward customers who guess brands based on ads served to them. Users can already join the promotion by accessing Micromax Mobile’s official Twitter account.

As ibtimes.co.in reports, users will be asked to watch 30- or 60-second ads, with the possibility to receive points for that. They will also have the possibility to cash in said points as talk-time vouchers.

“Let's be clear about what this does. It's not for business people, who are on the move and don't have time to watch advertisements. This is aimed at the youth, who could use the cash and don't mind watching advertisements,” Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma reportedly explained.

The new Micromax Canvas mAd A94 mobile phone itself is quite appealing as well, especially considering the fact that it might land in India priced at only Rs. 7,499 ($122/€89).

According to a recent article on technosamigos, the Micromax Canvas mAd A94 will hit shelves with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, but no resolution for it has been unveiled.

Furthermore, the handset will sport a quad-core processor coming from Mediatek inside, while pairing it with 512MB of RAM (the amount of RAM might prove a deal breaker to some people).

The mobile phone will also feature 4GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

Moreover, it will be released with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, as well as with a VGA camera on the front, to enable users to make video calls while on the go.

The smartphone runs under the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and it should also pack all the usual connectivity options and sensors.
