Indian mobile phone maker Micromax has finally made its first Windows Phone handset available for purchase on the local market, after making it official a couple of months ago.

We’re referring here to the Micromax Canvas Win W121, which has just landed on shelves at Flipkart with a price tag of Rs. 9,494 ($157/€120) attached to it.

However, as WPCentral notes, it seems that the company did not go for an exclusivity deal with the retailer on this phone, and that users in India can also grab the device via Snapdeal, where it is priced at Rs. 9,499, as well as via Amazon India, which sells it for Rs 9,999 ($165/€126).

For those out of the loop, we should note that Micromax actually launched two Windows Phone handsets, but that the second one, namely Canvas Win W092, has yet to be released.

Both of these phones are running under the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and, as you can image when learning the price tag attached to Canvas Win W121, both of them are aimed at the entry level of the market.

The mobile phone was launched with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering an HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the handset was announced with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 processor inside, paired with 1GB of RAM, which should result in pretty decent performance capabilities to its users.

At the same time, the smartphone sports 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, offering support for up to 32GB of external storage space.

On the back, the Micromax Canvas Win W121 features an 8-megapixel camera with flash and auto focus, with should be able to record videos in HD resolution. A 2MP front camera was also included in the package.

The Windows Phone 8.1-based handset lands on shelves with support for HSDPA connectivity, as well as with the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0 capabilities.

Moreover, the handset is powered by a 2000mAh battery that should be able to provide users with up to 8 hours of talk time, or with up to 150 hours of standby time.

The mobile phone also sports dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) capabilities, Gravity Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, and all of the features and capabilities that the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system was launched with.

Those of you who are interested in grabbing the new device should head over to one of the aforementioned three retailers for that.
