14 DAY TRIAL // Indian OEM Micromax marked its entrance on the Russian market by announcing several Android smartphones that are not yet available in India.
For the time being, it's unclear if these devices will be released in Russian first, and then in India, or they will benefit from a simultaneous launch in both countries.
AndroidOS reports that during Micromax's press event in Russia, the Indian company showcased its upcoming lineup of Android smartphones that will be released in the Motherland within the next few weeks.
Among the devices presented at the press event, Micromax Canvas Knight A350 and Canvas Tube A118R have yet to be officially introduced in India.
We have already reported on the former and expect Micromax to make it official in India very soon, but the latter is still a mystery.
Micromax Canvas Tube A118R is a mid-range smartphone rather than a high-end device, even though it boasts a huge 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. Unfortunately, we don't have any details on the screen's resolution for the moment.
The phablet has also been confirmed to arrive with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor inside, probably provided by MediaTek.
There's no word on the amount of storage and RAM, but Micromax states the smartphone will come packed with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
On the back, the Canvas Tube A118R features a 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front it packs a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.
Other highlights of the smartphone include: 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with Bluetooth, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and 2,300 mAh battery.
Software-wise, Micromax Canvas Tube A118R will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and some preloaded apps and services, including IVI.ru app. Stay tuned for more updates on the subject.
