The Canvas L leaked online last week as Micromax A108, though aside from some specs, nothing else was known about the unannounced smartphone.

Today, the Indian OEM has confirmed the smartphone is real and listed it on its official webstore. Unfortunately, Micromax Canvas L does not have a price tag attached to it yet, and there’s no telling when exactly the smartphone will eventually go on sale.

Spec-wise, the Canvas L is a mid-range Android smartphone with a large display, so fans of Google’s mobile platform who are looking for a phablet may want to take this one into consideration.

Sadly, until Micromax puts a price on the Canvas L there’s no way to know if this is a great deal or not for the Indian smartphone market.

All in all, at least we now know what to expect from Micromax’s mid-range smartphone when it comes to specs. According to the listing, the Canvas L sports a large 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and “400 pixels per inch come together to give your sharper and crisper images.”

On the inside, Micromax Canvas L, or Micromax A108, comes equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek 6582M processor. The good news is the smartphone also packs 1GB of RAM, so users won’t have any issues when it comes to running any app or game included in Google Play Store.

The Canvas L only has 8GB of internal memory (4.91GB for user data, 1.25GB for apps installation), but owners can further expand storage up to 32GB via a microSD memory card.

On the back, the handset features an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 2-megapxiel camera for video calls and selfies.

When it comes to connectivity, the Canvas L is an all-rounder. The smartphone offers a wide range of options, including Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB, GPS with A-GPS support, dual-SIM, and 3G HSPA (21Mbps).

The phone is powered by a high-capacity 2350 mAh battery, which should provide up to 210 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.

Micromax Canvas L will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, but it will also be preloaded with lots of games (Zombie smasher, Bounce ball, bubble X Slice) and apps (Kingsoft, BMS, Clean Master, Games Club, Getit, Hike, Miskin, Mi Games, Mi Insurance, Milive, Mi security, MAD, Opera Mini, SwiftKey, True Caller).
