We reported a few days ago that Micromax was likely to launch yet another mid-range Android smartphone in India soon, the Canvas L A108. The device appeared on the Indian OEM’s official website, but without any details on price tag and availability.

Well, it looks like the Canvas L A108 has just received a price tag, and customers can now pick this one up through the online retailer Infibeam for only Rs 10,499 ($170 / €130) outright.

It appears that the smartphone has been priced by Micromax at Rs 11,499 ($190 / €140), but Infibeam offers a 9% discount on the purchase of the Canvas L, which is why customers can get it for the reduced price for the moment.

According to Infibeam, all Micromax Canvas L A108 orders will ship in 1-2 days for free. It’s also worth mentioning that the Indian retailer only sells the black color version of the smartphone.

Judging by the phone’s price tag, one would think that it is a mid-range smartphone, and the truth is this is indeed a mid-speced handset. Moreover, Micromax Canvas L A108 could also be put in the phablet category given its rather large display.

Anyway, let’s move on to specs and see what the newest Micromax smartphone has to offer to those who are willing to pay the amount the Indian company asks for it.

First of all, the Canvas L A108 ships with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. This is one of the features that should justify a big chunk of the outright price.

Next in line, the smartphone boasts a large 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution. The handset is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTel MT6582M processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Keep in mind though that only 1.25GB is available for apps installation and 4.91GB for user data. The good news is users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via the microSD card slot.

On the back, the Canvas L A108 packs an 8-megapixel enhanced camera that features autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Micromax Canvas L A108 is powered by a 2350 mAh battery, which should provide up to 210 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.

Obviously, the smartphone offers dual-SIM support, FM Radio function, 3G HSPA (21Mbps) connectivity, as well as Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS.
