Micromax is definitely the most important native handset maker in India. Given its status, the company is launching handsets on a weekly basis in order to lure more and more customers to its products.

The Indian OEM releases smartphones for all market segments, but the most popular, obviously, are those entry-level and mid-range that offer good specs for a small price.

However, Micromax is also concerned about the higher-end segment of the market, which is why from time to time, the company launches a flagship smartphone that sometimes sells very well among Indian customers.

One such device seems to be the recently leaked Micromax Canvas Gold A300, which has yet to be announced officially by the Indian handset maker.

In fact, the phone did not even appear on Micromax's official website, which means it will probably take some time until the Canvas Gold A300 goes on sale.

When it comes to specs, Micromax Canvas Gold A300 is a beast. According to MicromaxCanvas blog site, the smartphone will be equipped with a powerful octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 2GHz.

Aside from the powerful CPU, the device will be packed with no less than 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, but only 25GB of storage will be available for users for installing apps and games.

As expected, the smartphone offers dual-SIM capabilities with GSM 2G 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz and WCDMA 3G 900 / 2100 MHz.

Another strong point of the Micromax Canvas Gold A300 would be the impressive 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

But there's more to it, as the device sports a no less impressive 5-megapixel camera in the front, which will allow users to take perfect selfies.

Micromax Canvas Gold A300 is said to come with a stunning 5.4-inch full HD capacitive touchscreen display, and it will be only 6.9mm thick. There's no information on battery or the existence of a microSD card slot for the moment.

Software-wise, Micromax's upcoming flagship smartphone is rumored to ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which is meant to appease more fans of the brand into purchasing the handset.

The high-end smartphone should be available in India for around Rs 20,000 ($335 / €250), but the information has yet to be confirmed by Micromax. No release date is available for the moment, but we suspect more details will emerge in the coming days, so stay tuned for additional info on the matter.
