Mobile phone maker Micromax has yet to make its new Canvas A116i smartphone official in India, yet retailers in the country are already listing the device on their websites.

The latest of them to do so is Snapdeal, which currently has the Micromax Canvas A116i up for grabs on its online portal with a price tag of Rs. 13,137 ($210/€155) attached to it.

The handset is expected to become official before the end of this week as the successor of the highly popular Micromax A116 Canvas HD, featuring hardware specs similar to those of its predecessor.

According to Snapdeal’s website, the new Micromax Canvas A116i arrives on the market with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS touchscreen display, while being powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor.

Furthermore, the device sports 1GB of RAM inside, along with only 4GB of internal memory, but users can add some more storage space into the mix courtesy of microSD memory cards.

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 2000mAh battery, as well as support for 3G (HSDPA: 21Mbps, HSUPA: 11Mbps) networks. On top of that, the new device sports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, as well as a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS.

On the back, Micromax Canvas A116i packs an 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 2MP front camera that should enable users to make video calls while on the go.

As fonearena notes, the phone also comes with 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio inside, as well as with support for two SIM cards at the same time. Furthermore, it runs under Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Just as mentioned above, Micromax Canvas A116i is expected to be officially introduced in India later this week, so keep an eye on this space for additional info on it.
